After a decade-long quest, the hero's party defeats the Demon King and disbands. But for Frieren, an elven mage who has lived for over a thousand years, ten years feels like the blink of an eye. When she reunites with her companions fifty years later only to watch the hero die of old age, Frieren realizes how little she understood her friends. She embarks on a new journey to learn about humanity before her remaining companions are gone.
